Hello I’m Roo,
I fell in love with photography whilst backpacking around the world in 2001, unfortunately I was shooting really bad photos of the most amazing sights, landmarks, cities and people! I soon enrolled at Leeds university to study photography and digital imaging on my return to the UK.
Three years later and gaining a first class honours degree in photography, two things happened! I had learnt how to take much better photographs and I also met my beautiful (now) wife Hannah, whilst studying in Leeds.
For the last 17 years I have been perfecting and honing my craft, photography style and approach. 2023 was the start of my next photography journey. I had always dreamt of having my own space to create amazing imagery for clients. My fully equipped studio in Otley lets me do this! It is located between the bright lights of Leeds city centre and the rolling hills of the beautiful Yorkshire Dales. The kettle is always on, Yorkshire Tea of course! The Studio is filled with beautiful props my wife Hannah has amassed whilst being a prop sourcer, still life and room set stylist. The studio has a fully functioning kitchen and plenty of space for food, people and lifestyle photography.
My passion and flair for photography, using creative lighting techniques and meticulous planning added to my calm approach immediately puts clients, art directors and subjects at ease. Over the years I have built some wonderful relationships with clients, art directors who I now consider as friends.
